God Cares

How many times in our lives do we ask ourselves, “Does God really care?” This is usually when life is difficult, when we are experiencing storms of life, when we experience a death, when we suddenly get sick, or experience a broken relationship. In fact, we even ask, “If God is good, why do bad things happen to me?”

In today’s Gospel, we are reminded that God really cares: Even if it were the Sabbath, Jesus would heal a sick person if needed. That is why in our own personal lives, five things we remember that God really cares:

  • First, God answers all our prayers. Yes, if it is meant to be; no, because God has a better plan; not yet, because his time is better than our time. Also, God will not change his plan because it is what is best.
  • Second, God provides. We came into this world with nothing. He lent us time, talent, and treasure for us to bear fruit and be able to a blessing to others.
  • Third, God has a plan. When God gave us life, he already had a plan for each and every one of us. That is why Jesus would always say, “The will of my Father and not my will.”
  • Fourth, God gives us strength. Not one of us is exempt from the typhoons of life. There are times we ask God to remove these typhoons, and sometimes he does. What He always does, though, is He gives us strength to face the typhoons in life.
  • Fifth, God forgives our sins. Not one of us lives a perfect life. We hurt God and we hurt the people around us. There is no sin that God will not forgive if we are truly sorry.

As we go through life each day, always remember… God cares.
