Why is there evil in the world? This has been the question people will always ask. The question then becomes, why do good when it is the evil doers advancing in this world?

The Gospel reminds us of the following reality:

• First, yes, there is evil. But that was not created by God. There were angels that wanted to be like God, and they were cast out of heaven by St. Michael. Some are in hell, some are here on earth.
• Second, as there is good and evil, it is in every person. There is also good and evil in every family, Church, city, organization, and the world. There are two realities in the world.
• Third, who will prevail in one person’s life? It is the one you choose. Virtue or vice, it all starts small. It starts with a thought. Eventually, it becomes an act, then becomes a character, and eventually becomes a destiny.

We pray that we may continue to do the will of God. This we can realize by first studying our faith, which includes the bible. Then surround ourselves with God-fearing people. Remember the saying, “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are”. Lastly, always listening to the teachings of the Church in this ever-changing world.
